Hi all,

I'm hoping to find out how to add a piano glissando that breaks through beams, creating some space around it. I've done this in a previous piece, but forgotten how to do it. Also, is the way to continue to have the glissando playing back to create a "fake one" that does the breaking of the beams, and have a "real one" hidden in the background? I've attached a screenshot to show what I'm after.

Any help is always appreciated!

Thanks,
Andrew

I don't know if there are other ways, but I was able to give the appearance of a broken beam by entering the same notes in 2 layers and then use the Beam Extension Tool to pull back the beams.

I use the articulation tool to do the rolled chords (arpeggios). I would not call them glissandos.

Anyway, once the articulation is applied, you can use an expression with an opaque Enclosure Shape to mask the beam by overlaying it where it crosses the beam.

Thanks Zuill. Of course, you're right, they aren't glissandos at all! I would call them arpeggiandos...
