Re-measuring again and again
Moderators: Peter Thomsen, miker
I have piece that is divided in sections, each starting with separate measure number (a1, b1, ...).
The problem is that if I add one measure at the beginning, all other measures are re-numbered. So, the a-section finish at b1, and b-section starts where it was b2.
How to avoid this? I have so many sections, over 1000 measures.

All instructions are in the thread. On my system (Windows Swedish) I had some localization problems with the dialog boxes displaying in chinese, but some trial and error solved it...
You can add/delete one or several measures and the regions will be automatically updated. Credits to Charles Lawrence.

Thanks!
I have never used LUA but I will definitely give a try. It is pain now (as many other things with Finale that are not logically implemented).

The JW Measure Numbers plugin might be of some use. Also, it might be worth considering waiting until the entire file is done before setting up the measure numbering, to avoid unwanted renumbering if you add measures. I think the JW plugin wiil repair the numbering if it gets discombobulated.

The problem is team work: once the file is updated with new measures it must be corrected in order to work together correctly. We get confused if there are different measure numbers from file to file. There are more than 1000 measures. So each section starts from 1. It is much easier.N Grossingink wrote:The JW Measure Numbers plugin might be of some use.
