Is it possible to edit Speedy keyboard commands?

I see the option to create my own keybind setup for Simple entry mode, but not for Speedy. Is this possible to do?

It may not be exactly what you are asking for, but in the Speedy Options there is the button “Create Key Map…”.

As far as I could tell, that lets you remap MIDI input, but not keyboard input. I'm looking to actually change the default keybinds, such as what key inputs notes or what keys move the carat around the bar.

I guess that the word “keyboard” can mis-understood (MIDI keyboard <=> computer keyboard).

You probably mean
that lets you remap MIDI keyboard input, but not computer keyboard input.

You are inputting via computer keyboard, not via MIDI keyboard, right?

I do not think that the Finale program itself offers an option to customize the hotkeys in the Speedy Entry Tool, sorry.
But you may be able to maker some customization via other software.

If I Recall Correctly, the plug-in collection TG Tools has a plug-in that lets you create hotkeys to menu items.
Take a look in the Speedy menus and sub-menus.
In principle it should be possible to create hotkeys to all menu commands.

A command that is not listed in any menu, On The Other Hand, may present difficulties.
(but perhaps all Finale commands are items in a menu somewhere?)

Thanks for the reply. To clarify, I'm not using MIDI at all. I intended to use my computer keyboard to input into Finale, yes.

I actually came across TG Tools when initially looking for this feature, but from what I understand, it is only available in the full version, and I'm not too keen on spending ~$100 USD for a plugin after already buying Finale, especially just for one feature that should probably be in the program itself anyway.

TGTools Lite does have the shortcuts feature. Which version of Finale are you using?

I'm using the latest version, but I'm not sure what it is (25.??) as I'm not in front of it at the moment.

Looking in the plugins folder, it looks like TGTools already has a folder in it. Does Finale come with the Lite version of this plugin?

Yes. Menu Shortcuts is the tool within TGTools lite.

It is in fact possible to customize Speedy Entry's key map, if you're technically oriented:

There used to be an app called FinaleTweak that took care of that. Maybe it is still out there to find, still working with recent versions of Finale.

Hi Zuill, trying to reach you, but can't connect with you on here, it's about a possible pay gig. Let me know how to reach you, send me a message. Thanks.

I do use Autohotkey, which gives heaps of additional possibilities when it comes to keyboard remapping. Highly recommendable.

Zuill, thanks for your message. Tried PM'ing you, but since I'm new on here, it won't let me reply to your message. Would you mind contacting me on my site, robertpaterson dot com, or giving me another way to contact you? Again, it's about a potential pay gig, I'm not asking for Finale advice. Thanks, Rob
