I know that holding Alt key and dragging the staff handle moves only that stave. Is there any shortcut that works that way so that I can use up and down arrow on the keyboard? I have tried with Alt + Up but it is another function (made my score extremely messy!).

Moving with the mouse is extremely tiresome and unprecise. Using keys should be the easier way, I guess.

Don't know how/if it works on a Mac, but in Windows, using the Staff Tool, after selecting any staff, you can move it up and down with just the up/down arrow (at least on my keyboard). Another, very precise solution would be to use the Staff tool, then select the staff you want to move, then menu Staff > Staff Usage, which will give you a screen to enter an exact distance to the previous staff. In TG Tools Menu shortcuts you can then assign this to any key or combination you want.

I need to move only one stave at the time.

On my Macs you can only use the arrows to move a stave in such a way that the staves below in the same system also move. With the option (alt) key held down you can drag a stave up or down independently with the mouse/trackpad without its moving the staves below. This doesn't work with the arrow keys.

Yes, works in Windows too, and Alt+up/down arrow as well

I confirm, on the Mac. Alt key does not work when combined with up/down arrow keys.

Ha! I've found the answer. Hold down both the option (alt) and the command keys on a Mac.

With both the option and the command keys held down, a selected stave will move up or down independently using the arrow keys, without moving any other staves.

Brilliant, David ! That shortcut is missing in Help -> Shortcuts -> Staff Tool. Thanks.
P.S. : after additional testing, in Scroll view, the Alt key alone works with the up/down arrow keys.
For Mac, it is thus apparently Alt-Cmd in Page view, Alt in Scroll view.

Wonderful, thank you David!

The question is why it is different on Mac and Win.
