With the Transpose Utility. You can choose to Transpose an octave, but retain the original note.

If you need to add octave doubling on a frequent basis you can also programme one of the four transposition metatools to do it.

What do you mean by 4 transposition metatools? Are those the numbers 6, 7, 8, 9 that you can use to transpose by step or octave? If not, what are you thinking of?

Yes, you can program transpositions on the number keys 6 - 7 - 8 - 9.

As you know, the default programming is Step Down, Step Up, Octave Down, Octave Up.

But you can program your own transpositions.

To program a transposition metatool, in the Mac version, hold down Shift-Command*), and press one of the number keys 6 - 7 - 8 - 9.

*) I am not sure about the modifier keys in the Windows version, perhaps Shift-Ctrl ?
