Hi all,
I have just finished entering a new piece into Finale 25. I am just about to go through the whole score and manually attend to all the collisions between slurs and accents, tenuti, staccati, etc.
I am wondering if it might be wise for me to buy the Fin 26 upgrade at this point and finish the repositioning of the articulations in that version as Fin 26 will automatically do the collision avoidance for me....
What do you think? I must admit I plan to get Fin26 sometime later on anyway, so perhaps now would be wisest?
My only concern is that the whole score thus far has been entered in Fin25. I hope I won't run into any "strange" issues if I complete the file with Fin26.
Cheers,
Hector.

Ah, thanks, Miker. I didn't realise there is a demo!

I always have a duplicate folder for every Finale version I have installed. I still have 2012, 2014.5, and 25.5 installed, and three document folders for their respective music files (so three folders of my symphonies, for example, each one labelled accordingly).
I simply point whatever new version of Finale to its own directory (I install Finale on my C: drive, but all of its music files - my music - are on a partition, in this case I think the E: or F: drive).
That way, if there's any sort of problem, I know that the original file is still in one of the other directories.

It might be very interesting to a number of users here (including myself) to know your findings when finishing a file in v. 26 which was started in v. 25, as well as how the file behaves when being subsequently reopened in v. 25.
