Can I make Kontakt 5 the default device?

In the score manager, is there a way to select a piano (in the instrument column) and have only that instrument default to Kontakt 5 (in the device column)?

Have you explored the Sound Map Priority window?

In my sound map priority window, I only see 3 things: Garritan Professional Orchestra 5, Garritan Instruments for Finale, and SmartMusic SoftSynth. My third party instruments, including Kontakt5 do not appear.

My goal is to be able to open a new document in Finale, select a piano in the Setup wizard, and have the document automatically play back with my Kontakt5 piano.

I looked in the manual and I guess sound maps for 3rd party sounds are not supported in Finale. Oops. I guess you're out of luck.

Using Kontakt in Finale is easy enough (unless v. 5.52 in 2014.5 and earlier on a Mac). I never tried making it the default, however. Does saving as a template not work?

Mike, I'll try saving as a template and see if that works, but since I use piano in a lot of different pieces with different combinations of instruments, I was hoping there was a way to select piano in the set-up wizard and automatically get the 3rd party piano sound I prefer.
