Finale 26
Imac Mojave
If I enter two quarter notes into a 4/4 bar with Simple Entry and then switch to Speedy Entry, Finale completes the bar with rests before I can enter anything else. In Finale 25, I have the Auto Rest feature turned off, so the measure waits for my next move. I also have the Auto rest feature turned off in Finale 26, but the off position is ignored.
I tried a default document in each Finale version to see if my original document was perhaps corrupted. In Finale 25, I got no unwanted rests; in Finale 26 I did. What could this be?

Both the Speedy Entry Tool and the Simple Entry Tool have the option “Fill with Rests at End of Measure”.
It is two different options, in two different tools.
Did you toggle off “Fill with Rests at End of Measure” in both tools, or only in one tool?
