Hello,
Whenever making changes in score manager, like for example trumpet to flugelhorn or electric bass to acoustic bass, or when adding an instrument, groups are added where they previously were removed. For example I have a score and was using electric bass but have decided to change the part to string bass. I had previously removed the auto grouping of the saxes and strings. After changing the elec bass to string bass the groups are automatically (re)added. Is there a way to eliminate this auto adding function?
Thanks,
JB

Additionally this happens when imploding music using "add to new staff at bottom...". It seems almost any change in score manager causes a default grouping to occur.

Have you considered disabling automatic grouping in preferences?

Thanks,
I didn't know there was such a thing. Where is that located? I can't seem to locate it.

OK I found it.
Finale>Preferences>Edit>Automatic Instrument Family Group Brackets (uncheck)

Thanks for your help.
