Hi all,
I'm new to this forum. Let's go straight ahead to my first question.
I have a bunch of quintuplets (in a harp arpeggio) consisting of 16th notes, completely filling a 3/4 measure. If afterwards, in revising my composition, I want to subdivide one of these 16ths into two 32ths, with simple entry, it works fine and as expected on all the beats except the last. There Finale will always make me come up one 32th note short. How do I work around that? (I got it to work once, but unfortunately I've forgotten how.)
Thanks for any suggestions!

The easiest way is to define the tuplet before you enter it on the last beat.
You can get around this by unchecking Check for Extra Notes in the Simple and/or Speedy menus.

Many thanks for your reply!miker wrote:The easiest way is to define the tuplet before you enter it on the last beat.

The tuplets have already been entered; I had hoped it would be possible to edit them afterwards. But if I understand correctly what you're saying, then it's easier to just delete the tuplet on the last beat of every measure and enter it again, in the way you described, right?

Instead, highlight the 16th and use the plugin (plugin menu) under Note, Beam and Rest Editing called Rhythmic Subdivisions. Choose the option to divide into 2 equal values.

Thanks people! I got it to work, simply by unchecking "Check for extra notes" in the Simple Entry menu, as miker said.
