Why does the cross staff command delete the 32nd note beam?

Sorry to be asking two questions in quick succession, but I'm really curious as to why Finale does this.

So I've succeeded in decorating my quintuplets with some 32nd notes. But if I want to move the high notes to the upper staff, by hitting Alt + arrow up, Finale suppresses the beams for the 32nd notes, making it seem as if all the notes are 16ths (making 7 16ths to a quintuplet, instead of 3 16ths and 4 32nds). Why? And how to work around it?

When I do it in a test, I get all the beams. We might need to see your file to troubleshoot. I'm on Windows, so maybe Mac has a bug I'm not aware of.

Thanks! I've made a minimal example for you. Where do I upload it to?

Works for me, on a Mac. As Zuill says, we may need to see your file. Or at least, a picture of what you're trying to do.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the outer tuplets (in a 3/4 measure) work fine, but it's the middle one that's abnormal.

The beams are there, but in the process of doing the cross staff (several steps to get the end result combined in the plugin you are using), the 32nd beams are now overlapping the 16th. Use Special Tools, Secondary Beam Angle Tool to drag them to where they need to be.

That does the trick! Not my dreamed-of solution, especially since I now have to eyeball the spacing of the beams, but I'll fly with it. Anyway, many thanks! This forum rocks (in more ways than one, I would assume).

A simpler solution:
In the note group in the middle of the measure (= the “problem group” with 16th, 32nd, 32nd, 16th, 32nd, 32nd, 16th),
just flip the stem direction.
To do so, hit the letter L key on the first note in the group (= ‘a’).
