hello!

I'm new to Finale v26 and looking for a tempo/metronome tool. Not finding one, the user manual says to use the playback window- I did set a tempo but the program doesn't seem to repond to any of the tempos i put into the dialogue boxes. Help please!

I'm a Mac user btw

many thanks,
mark

The Tempo Tool has been deemed redundant and has been removed. Finale reacts to the tempo in the playback window as its last port of call. It reacts to expressions with a defined tempo first. Check your expressions to make sure that only one of them is set to a playback tempo. Sometimes there can be hidden MIDI data in a file. Make sure these have been removed by using the Edit/Erase Selected Items menu item.

To go into more details in what Vaughan explained, you can create an expression, then define it in the category "Tempo Marks". On the right, pick a note value (quarter note for instance), add the "=" and a tempo value.
