I noticed with each successive use of the plug-in "TG-tools/easy tremolo" that the dialog box kept shifting further to the right on the screen. Now it has disappeared entirely. I saw suggestions for re-installing Finale and also for resetting preferences to defaults. I have done both, neither has been successful. Anybody have a solution? Finale26/Windows 10

Hmmm,
• try unplugging the monitor and plugging it back in again. It might reposition things.

• turn off – and then on – the settings for "automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode" in Windows. Worth a try...

Hector.
Oh and also you could try setting your screen resolution to the highest possible and see if you can find the edge of the dialogue box.

Don't know if this is of any interest.

FWIW, it still happens in F26 … no solution, just have to remember to drag the box back up periodically.

Interesting that yours goes sideways while mine drops downwards.

I'm assuming that Tobias doesn't frequent these boards ...

Thanks to all who replied. Got some hints, got my curiosity up and I started rooting around for a solution. Bottom line, I went to %appdata%/Roaming/Makemusic/Finale/26 . There were 6 folders and 2 configuration files. One was FINALE, one was FINMIDI. I copied the FINALE configuration file to a flash drive, then deleted it. When I opened Finale and tried the "Easy Tremolo" tool, the dialog box was half-on, half-off the right side of the screen, but I was able to drag it back into the center.

Funny thing is, I have closed and opened Finale a couple of times trying this out, and now the Dialog box seems to stay where I last put it.

Thanks again to all who replied.

You might consider keeping a "good" version of the Finale configuration file in case this happens again. Then you won't have to redo all your preferences.

I do that, as well. Doesn't solve the problem for me. I even saw the issue with the first "clean" install of F26. It's only a "minor" irritation in reality, since I am aware of what's happening, and I just have to remember to periodically move the box up the window.

The palettes seem to be stored in the Windows Registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MakeMusic\Finale2014.5, in my case), so I keep a copy of that as well.
