I am continually getting a pop-up that says:
Your active output has been disconnected!
Finale has selected the next available device.
You can select a different device by opening the Audio Setup Dialog.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Do you have an audio interface, which is selected in Finale as the main audio output ?
If you turn it off, Finale displays a message like the one you describe.
