JW Validate, v1.00 is now available for download, for Finale 25 and later versions.
It's a plug-in that scans the document and reports potential errors. Download from the finaletips site.

My favorite quote about this plug-in on the Finale Powerusers Facebook page:
"I ran a piece of mine through the plug-in, and it came back as one huge error. It works!"

I ran it for fun on one of my pieces and it certainly caught some inconsistencies.
Definitely would recommend trying it out. It may not be right for everyone, but it's really good at what it does.

Heavens! First a warning: if you ask the plug-in to scan too much, Finale may crash.
Running the validate dynamics option on a single 716 bar scene of an opera for modest forces 6 singers and 23/24 instruments came up with a gigantic list of alerts and warnings, many spurious as they were commenting on the dynamics being above staves, which of course they should be for the vocal lines. Also a lot of vocal dynamics are listed as having an error for being vertically very far from the attachment point, but on checking are sensibly placed.
As for the instrumental parts, those dynamics listed as having an error will certainly be worth checking. Grand staves (in this case Harp) appear to produce dynamic alerts and warnings as a matter of course.
This is a score originally finished in 2012. In ‘document structure’ JW Validate pointed out that ‘Lines for staff, ledger and bar all have identical width.’ That I do need to address. There is good advice about line widths here (scroll down to John Ruggero's list & look also at the thread as a whole) http://notat.io/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55& ... sses#p1034
I haven't yet got past dynamics in JW Validate, but don't anticipate anything too unsettling (I'm hoping, anyway).
