One of many weird experiences I am having with v26...on occasion I enable the chord tool, then when I click in a measure to begin typing chords, the cursor is on a random stave that I did not click, and usually in a different measure as well. For instance, I click in the Rhythm stave, but the cursor shows up in the Trumpet stave. The only way to "escape" this problem is to double click a chord symbol that might already be on that staff, then hit spacebar until I'm at the measure I need. If I don't have any chord symbols already in place, I have to restart Finale to fix the issue. Anyone else experiencing this?

Try manually updating the layout - press Command/U.

Thanks, but that doesn't help the problem. The problem is occurring during chord entry. With the chord tool on, when I click on the measure, the cursor doesn't show up where I clicked, but rather on a different measure AND a different stave. If I start typing, the chord symbol, indeed, gets entered on the wrong stave and measure. Update Layout only updates what has been entered, and doesn't affect this off-kilter cursor issue. I have also submitted this issue on the MakeMusic website.

If I understand you correctly, you are in Page View, not Scroll View, right?

What is the Page View Style? (Look in the View menu)

No, primarily in Scroll View. I don't usually go to Page View until I'm done with entry. But I have seen this issue happen in Page View as well.

If you are using Scroll View, then I suspect that Update Layout does not have any effect.

I could be wrong here, but I think that Update Layout does not affect Scroll View.
