Anyone else having this problem? My Finale is like delayed a second or two with every function I try.

1) I have plenty of storage.
2) Plenty of Memory.
3) I've restarted the computer several times.
4) No other computer application does this.

I am baffled and it makes workflow awful.

Please help! Thanks so much!

Does this happen constantly?

I think there is a memory leak somewhere in the Finale code. This occasionally happens for me and I need to hard restart to get it working again.

Davidabb,

1) What version of Finale?
Your profile says 2014, but your signature says v25.

2) Do you have other programs running on the computer?
I have experienced that Finale ran slowly when iTunes was launched.
As soon as I quit iTunes, Finale ran at normal speed.

3) Do you have any of Finale’s automatic functions toggled on?
Disabling the automatic functions may give you some extra speed.
(The flip side is that you have to do manually, what the automatic functions did for you, such as Apply Music Spacing, or Update Layout)

Also, if you have a hi-res monitor, you might want to try running at a lower resolution.

My best workaround would be to try single page view so that redrawing is quicker.
Apropos of nothing, in hot weather, I get the impression things start to misbehave (for example slow file navigation, etc), so I aim my desk fan at the mac rather than me and that helps (at least I like to think it does).
