Finale Version No. 26
Mac

Having updated a few times, I have files for Finale versions 2008, 2012, 2014, and 2014.5.
Is it safe to remove these files from my computer?
Is there a specific way to do this?
If it's better to leave them in place, how can I set the default to Finale 26 (for opening files).
Thank you!

You can just move the old versions to the trash.

Right-click on a file > Get Info > Open With > Select F26, and tap the Change All... button

I'd keep 2014.5 just in case any of the newer "features" produce unwanted results. The file format is the same as 26 so you can move freely between the versions.

2014.5 is "not supported" on the latest Mac OSes, but my own experience is that older Finale versions can possibly run OK. You can check this for yourself by just testing 2014.5 on your setup.
