Repeat Handles on parts

Postby pco614 » Thu Jan 31, 2019 12:46 am

Hello All, this is something that has cropped up for a while, been meaning to bring it up... when moving (in page view) from the score to edit parts, repeats of any kind (D.S. al Coda, To Coda, etc.) only show the positioning handles if they are over a single bar. If they are sitting over multimeasure rests, the handle doesn't show. This is a real pain as the only way to adjust the location of the repeat text is to switch to scroll view, where the handle does indeed show, then play with it, ctrl-E back to page view, see how it looks, etc. But of course, all you want to do is place the marking in such a position as it doesn't collide with, say, the number of bars over the multimeasure rest, or anything else for that matter. Is there a setting that I'm missing? This has been happening for a very long time, been using Finale for over 20 years and I'm not sure if it ever didn't happen.

Indeed this is a problem in multimeasure rests.

My own workaround:
Hide the Text Repeat, and use an expression to display the repeat text.
