Is there any way to turn off "Scale expression with attached note" before the fact? I never want that, except for perhaps a dynamic on a cue (which I usually omit). It's silly to put in a cue and have labels and even things like "rit." at the top of the staff scaled.

No way that I'm aware of. It would be nice if this option was on the contextual menu. I use it a lot.
