OT: I need a font with a flat symbol to use in Scribus.

Postby Hector Pascal » Wed Feb 06, 2019 5:23 am

Hi all,

When I design my finale score cover using the open source Scribus (kind of like Adobe Illustrator), I wish to use the flat symbol "b" for the Bb clarinet name.

But Maestro and Engraver fonts don't show up in the font choices. Bravura shows up as a font choice but the characters don't display. Any other options? Otherwise, I'll just have to put B-flat clarinet.

Thanks,
Hector.

I suppose that you can use any Unicode font that has musical symbols in the Unicode character slots that are reserved for musical symbols.

Try e. g. the Palatino font.

Here is the Unicode flat character:

You can copy it from here, and paste it into Scribus.
