You enter the notes in the upper staff then use the Note Mover Tool, set to Cross Staff, with a few Special Tools edits, to get that. An easier way is using the TGTools Cross Staff feature to automate it. With Windows, in the Selection Tool, highlight the note by dragging around the beat, then hold Shift-Alt and press the down arrow. I don't know the key combination for Mac.

I have never used the Shift-Alt+down arrow method, but it seems quite cumbersome - generally not that easy (unless zoomed in a lot) to select just one note, and you have to do one note at a time. The other method (which I often use) I find a lot more workable - Note Mover > Cross Staff - that way you can select several notes in one measure (usually they would be the lower ones anyway and can easily be drag-selected) all at once and move them down to the other staff. TG Tool cross staff is pretty good too (although I use this mostly to un-do cross staff notation in one fell swoop ...)

With the Cross Staff sub-tool of the Note Mover Tool, there are still edits to be done with Special Tools. We used to do that in the "old days". TG Tools automates all that, so it takes so much less time. It's easy to chose one note at a time and press the down arrow. I can do all 4 in the posted example in far less time than the old way with the Special Tools edits. Those you still have to do one at a time, so it is cumbersome.

It's Alt-Down--no Shift--on my set-up.

The TGTools Lite cross-staff plug-in let's you specify a split point beyond which notes are moved, which might be helpful, depending. I use Alt-arrow mostly.

The menu says Shift-Alt Down (or Up) Arrow. That is probably for the Lite version. Since you have the full version, that's probably the difference.

Which edits?

If you want the beams between the staves the stem must be flipped to the other side with a different tool. The Note Mover also seems to require dragging with the mouse.
