Finale 2014, Windows

So I'm wondering if there's a way to extend a first ending? I transcribe a lot of jazz music, and most of the first endings are longer than 1 measure long, but so far I haven't figured out a way to make a first ending go further than one measure. Any help?

When you create the endings with the repeat tool, first select the several measures that are to be the first ending.

To clarify motet’s words:

Use
Repeat menu > Create First and Second Ending

There are also other options in the Repeat Tool, but these other options are meant for creating other (and more advanced) repeats.
