I can't make it happen, either, though as I said I did see Maestro appear at one point as I was flailing around on your attachment above. It may be time to try the ol' preference file reset as Zuill suggests.

I tried resetting the preferences, but no luck. Reaching out to Make Music Support now. Thanks for the help in trying to figure this out, it's very appreciated!

I reached out to Make Music support about this issue, and I figured I would share their response with you all here:

Hi there,

Thanks for contacting MakeMusic Customer Support!

This specific process is a known issue within Finale, and thankfully, I'm able to give you some steps on how to avoid this!

While entering in the measure ranges for each region, (1-16, 17-32) if you use the Delete key to empty these fields and type in a new number, this will break the font. The workaround for this is just to double-click the numbers in these fields and then replace them without using the Delete key.

This is a bug that has been around for quite some time, and is something we are also still looking into to fix! Thankfully this is easy to resolve by going through a slightly different process.

I hope this makes sense and please let me know if you have any other questions!

Ah! I always select and replace rather than delete, so that explains it!

When you are in the dialog box Measure Number, you can select/cycle through the fields by hitting the Tab key repeatedly.
I use that trick quite often in dialog boxes.

At least the “Tab key selection trick” works in my Mac version.
Don’t know about the Windows version.

It does.

I can't make it fail with the Delete key, actually, but I always click in the box, type Ctrl-A, then type the replacement.
