Good day,
I'm writing lyrics in a song using Finale 2011 on Windows 7. For example, the word "burn" is used, but the r is so close to the n that it now looks like an m. Is there anyway to create more spacing between text? Thank you, Scott.

What font are you using? What size? Can you post a screen shot?

Thank you for your reply! I'm using Times New Roman, and the font size is 10. I had trouble uploading a screen shot, every time I tried, the pixel ratios weren't right, or the file was too big. I hope the information I provided helps!

Try this–

Type "burn" as "burin". In the lyric window, highlight the "i" and select hidden style from the text menu on the menu bar. Select the hidden text and change the size to 1 point. The result is not perfect but possibly works for you. You can copy and paste the hidden text if you need more space bumps.

There is another way to do that, but unfortunately, it only seems to be usable with text, not with lyrics. That would be by adjusting the tracking, which determines the space between characters. In the attached example, the top is normal, the middle has the tracking of the "rn" set to 50, and the bottom is set at 75.

I know it doesn't help here, but I have used it when creating text expressions.
