Magnus Choir - Finale 25

Hello,

Is Magnus Choir compatible with Finale 25?

I have Finale 25 now, and I used to have Finale 2012, in which I got Magnus Choir to work. Now, in Finale 25, I cannot seem to get Magnus Choir to even be recognized by Finale. I added the directory which has the plugin (the .dll file), and clicked "re-scan for VST plugins", but Magnus Choir will not show up under VST Banks and Effects, nor under the Sound Map Priority, nor in the ScoreManager.

Has anyone else had this problem? I searched "Magnus" on this forum and didn't find anything.

Fin25 is 64bit, so your plugin would need to be also.

At the same time that I posted this post, I also contacted Syntheway support (i.e. Magnus Choir support) and fortunately got this response (which echoes Bill's comment that the plug-in needs to be 64-bit):
Since you are using Finale for Windows version 25, it only 64 bit and supports VST 64 bit (x64) Plugins.
Now the presets are accessed from 'selector area' and since Finale version 25 and version 26 doesn't support 'VST presets manager' anymore, x64 version also fix it.

Fortunately I made the 64 bit of Magnus Choir, so please download the registered version from the following URL

[clipped]

Just keep in mind install into your VST plugins folder both file/folder named:

Magnus Choir x64.dll
and
Magnus Choir x64.instruments (complementary folder)

[clipped]

Installation:
- Unzip/extract the zip file with the password provided.
- For 32 bit: Place the Magnus Choir.dll file in a directory where your VST host is looking for 32 bit (x86) VST plug-ins.
- For 64 bit: Place the Magnus Choir x64.dll and Magnus Choir x64.instruments folder into your VST host/DAW's VST Plugins 64 bit directory.
- Rescan your VST Plugins folder from your VST host/DAW, if needed.
I have done this and Magnus Choir now shows up under "VST Banks and Effects" as it should, and it is functioning properly in Finale 25.
