I had this trouble before with an earlier version....can't remember which one...but some how it was resolved. Now it's happening again since I upgraded to Mojave. I'm on finale 26. When using the staff tool to alter the distance between systems, in page view, all the music disappears.

To adjust space between systems, use the Page Layout Tool (Systems > Edit Margins). Could be whatever you're doing with the Staff Tool is causing the disappearing music.

The D key refreshes the screen. In this case, it might help.

The staff tool can be used to adjust the space between systems (dragging the top staff of a system) but I agree the Page Layout tool is the better way to go. I don't know why music is disappearing, though. If you have hard page breaks it may have moved on to a future page. If you have Automatic Update Layout turned off, turn it on (and leave it on--it's worthless to turn it off).

In my case just now, everything disappeared when I clicked anything anywhere, on any page, score or parts. Moving to a new part restored it. I tried different tools -- everything disappeared, except in some cases there would be traces of the tool, like handles for the Measure tool. Playing the music erased it as it played.
I copied everything to a new default file -- no better.
Until I randomly chose the Text tool -- I dbl-clicked to make a text box, and all was normal. I zapped the text box and all was normal. Played though the file, saved it, re-opened it, messed with it, all seems to still be normal again. A demon? WTH.

Strange, I turned off Auto update a couple weeks ago, on advice (from motet?) that doing so would shorten long wait-time for Finale loading, and it seems to have accomplished that. Finale has some curious behaviors, and seemingly random resolutions.

I don't think it was me--I'm constantly ragging on people to leave it on!
I wouldn't think it would affect Finale start-up time. I solved the start-up delay by telling Windows Security not to scan it when it loads.
