Hi All, thanks for the help over the years.

I am creating music tests for students. I often need to create two or more sections of a staff on a single line.

How can I get the second example to look just like the first, as though it were the first in that system, with the clef before the time signature?

Many thanks.

Make two short systems in the Page Layout tool. Suppress the cautionary clef and time signature at the end of the first with the measure attributes. Back in the Page Layout tool, uncheck "avoid margin collisions" and drag them side by side.

By The Way:

The plug-in Create Coda System can be quite useful in this process (of creating two systems next to each other), and save you some time.

That does sound easier. I hadn't though of looking at the plug-ins. Thanks!

A generated PDF file opened in Inkscape can be heavily manipulated.

In Inkscape you can move, resize and change color to all objects.
