Finale 26
Mac, OS 10.14.4

This is doubtless a stupid question, but in the past I have found the Index — the text Index, not the visual one — within the Help system a very good way of accessing information that cannot be located in the User Manual. (Try opening the Manual and searching for 'Rests'!) But in Finale 26 and MacOS 10.14.4 I can no longer find a link to the Index. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Am I not understanding your question?

Yes, Motet, you are understanding my question, but your pictorial answer would be just what I am looking for if only I could find it. If I have a score open that I am working on and I click on Help, what I see is not what you have shown me, but what I attach to this reply; and clicking on 'User Manual' does not reveal your picture, either.

Because you are on a Mac and Finale 26, maybe that explains things. When I opened the User Manual, I didn't see the same thing. Then I chose Maximize for my window, and the words appeared. Before that, I clicked on the little settings icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen and the list, including Index, appeared on the right side margin. I'm guessing what you need is there somewhere.

That's the answer, zuill; thank you very much. Maximising my window didn't do it — it was maximised already — but the icon of three little lines at top right of the screen did! I was sure that I had already tried that, but I clearly had not. I am working on a score whose manuscript original is notated in a very complicated way, so being able now to access the Index will make life. bearable again
