Staff Size

Hi,
What minimum staff size would you advice for score in A3 page ?
I'm using 0,3 cm but I need them to be smaller I think.......

Elaine Gould recommends 0.37 cm as the smallest stave size for a full score. Can you print the conductor's score to B3 or even A2? A score for reference only might have staves smaller than 0.3 cm if still legible while sitting at a desk.

Could you use A3+ paper instead? That's 13x19 inches as opposed to A3's 11.7x16.5 inches.

The problem with so called A3+ is that it has different proportions from the ISO standard A and B sizes, so really needs a different layout. B3 on the other hand retains the proportions of A3 and is fairly often used for large scores.

A score typeset in Finale in any ISO A or B size can be successfully printed to any other A or B size without adjusting the layout. eg It's now common to have a full score in B4 or A3 and a study score in B5 or A4 printed from the same score file.
