all boxes minimised i.e. dynamics, articulations etc

Whenever I click on either articulations or things like tempo markings, technique etc, the boxes are narrow until I expand them. This is driving me crazy! Anyone know of this happening, or of a fix?
Working in latest version of Finale with windows 10, 64 bit pc

I would try recreating the preference file.
