1. Is there a way to make nested tuplets with the Simple entry too without resorting to the separate Tuplet tool? In Simple entry, Alt-9 doesn't seem to respond if you're in the middle of a tuplet.
2. I was able to make A with Speedy entry, but B I had to make with the separate Tuplet tool. Is there a way to make B without leaving Speedy entry?

I don't know of a way for either question without the Tuplet Tool.

Hello Motet

I created your B nested tuplets easily with key strokes in Speedy by a) ctr-3 enter a crotchet (so ‘programming the crotchet triplet; b) return to the crotchet and press ctr-3 again and set the quaver triplet notes. c) end with two further crotchets which do appear as the initial triplet.

Ah. Yes. It seems I once knew that. Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks! (With "Insert Notes or Rests" unchecked).

So I guess that suggests you can do any nested tuplet in Speedy that you can do in the separate Tuplet tool. But I can envision cases where it might be easiest to just enter all the notes and then use the latter.
