in 25, There's a little handle next to the number but it only lets me make vertical changes. It's putting the number right in the middle (horizontally) of the first measure of the ending...

For starters, quit Finale and restart; maybe shut down and restart the computer as well. The number should be easily movable in any direction. Has it always behaved this way or is this something new? If new, check the preferences as well.

This is the first time i've tried moving the ending # in v25. I determined that you can adjust it horizontally but it's not intuitive. I have to grab the anchor and move it about 2 inches before it moves the number and the number jumps around in the measure as if it's snapping to some type of grid. I can't figure out what it thinks it's snapping to though because it doesn't correspond to beats or any known elements.

And yes, I shut finale down and restarted prior to testing.

It's not normal behavior. I can move the number left and right easily.

Sometimes, quitting and restarting Finale isn’t enough. Restarting the computer may be necessary.

There are "snap to grid" and "snap to guides" in the View menu. Could those have gotten checked by mistake?
