Plugins for Creativity/Transformation

Postby MowingDevil » Mon May 27, 2019 5:45 am

Hello, I just read about Sibelius plugins that are compositional tools (similar to most DAWs in their MIDI editors) that allow for inverting a passage, retrograde, randomize etc. I've found the Patterson plugins but those seem more focused on moving components around. The JW plugins don't seem to be about transformation either. Are there any Finale equivalents to the transformational plugins for Sibelius?

No criticism imputed - and I know it is not really an answer to your question - but I believe it is better to do these things manually. If the techniques go through the creative, experienced human brain I think these techniques work better and will most likely lead you on to other ideas.

If you want a random chord generator however there is one here, refresh the page for a different set of random chords:

Ah cheers, I overlooked that Canonic utility. Perfect.

re: the manual thing, yes I normally do these things manually/by ear. It's just for reversing or inverting a line it's been a major time saver when using DAW MIDI editors in the past.
