That's the big question. Is there a shortcut to select "Speedy Entry" or is it down to QuicKeys?

You could try to set it up as a shortcut in the keyboard control panel. I have a lot of shortcuts there, although I don’t use Speedy.

There is a possibility to program keyboard shortcuts within the program:

John,

Note that what Anders suggested is document-specific, so if you want that shortcut on all your documents you will want to add it to your templates.

Maybe this isn't possible on a Mac (?), but in Windows Finale you can simply use the TGTools Menu Shortcuts feature to program any key or combination you like to any of the tools.

That TGTools feature is not in the Mac bundle. Mike's suggestion of System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts provides a similar function.

Another kind of assignment possible only on Windows, and document-specific, but very quick to program and to use:
Select a tool from the palette > hold shift and press any of the keys f2 to f12. Then, to select a tool, press just the f key assigned. (On my computer f10 and f12 seem a bit unwilling, for some inexplainable reason, but otherwise this works just fine.)
To do this every time you create a new document doesn't take many seconds, especially if you use fairly much the same assignments each time.

I programed my template and it works great! Thanks to all as always!
