Hi everyone,
This tuplets problem is driving me crazy. Every time I enter a tuplets value that exceeds 7 / value, it f* up at the end systematically (as shown in the pic below).
The time signature is 4/4. I tried to fit in those 60 notes with 8th, 16th and 32th into 7x8th and 14x16th. Every time the end of the group goes into the next measure (not enough room for the last note, but all entries seem correct).
Thank you so much for your help !!!

There are ways of entering that cause this kind of behavior and ways that don't. How are you entering?

It would be easier to read and might give the player a fighting chance if the secondary beams were broken every 4 notes. That would be 15 groups of 4 for a 60-tuplet. Or, 7 1/2 groups of 8… or 10 groups of 6. Just get them visually subdivided.

The notes are not repeating, it's just a fast scale on the piano. Just wanted to show the rhythmical problem despite the notes.miker wrote:Might one ask just who is going to play that? On what instrument?

I entered one note first with the Simple Entry Palette, then selected the Tuplet Tool in the Main Tool Palette, then entered [60] 16th in the space of [7] 8th. I used the same method for all the other values, sometimes it works, most of the time there is the problem I mentioned...zuill wrote:There are ways of entering that cause this kind of behavior and ways that don't. What I want to achieve is simply a series of very fast notes like the scales in the beginning of Liszt's Mazeppa, if that can help explain what I mean.

Thanks for the advice, but as I explained earlier the notes are not actually repeating, this was just to demonstrate my issue with the rhythm entry.N Grossingink wrote:Heh, heh…miker wrote:Might one ask just who is going to play that? On what instrument?

Could you write it as a free cadenza rather than as a tuplet? You could apply JW conceal barlines having first entered the notes with suitable time signature(s) which can then also be hidden via the plug-in.
If you really do want to have it as a tuplet, I suspect that that might work better in Speedy Entry (see screenshot). This was easy via 60 in the space of 32. (On a Mac: while in Speedy key Option 1 before entering any notes, then in the dialogue that appears specify 60 x 32nd notes in the space of 32 x 32nd notes.)
You can then, should you so choose, beam all 60 together, breaking secondary beams as and where you wish, or apply any of a number of other beaming possibilities.

Don't use the Tuplet tool in the main tool palette for this. You only need it for nested tuplets. Instead, enter the first note in Simple entry, press Alt-9 to set up the tuplet, then enter the remaining notes.
