Resize Measures

I"m using Finale 2012 on Windows.
I need to resize measures so that they will fit exactly into an existing piece of music. I know how to resize measures but other than trial and error I don't know how to get measures in a new piece to line up with an existing (purchased) piece of music. The measure size information in Finale doesn't seem to be in inches and it doesn't seem to be in CMs. So if I have a measure in an existing piece of music that 3/4 inch, what number do I need to input into the resize measure tool to get the Finale measure to also be 3/4 inch? To further explain my situation, I have a choral piece for two part women and I am the director of a very, very small church choir. My only man in the choir says that he can't read treble clef so I would like to rewrite the alto part in bass clef and then past it into the original octavo. Hope that explanation helps a bit to understand what I'm trying to do.
Thanks.
