finale 26.1
mac pro high sierra
I"m trying to add an audio track to a composition...no audio coming in....
I am using a Shure model 57 mic and it's working fine...I can record audio in quicktime just fine...
I added the audio track...selected record...pointed to measure one, hit the spacebar and playback starts...the red record light is on,...no blinking or anytying...but no recording...I went to mac pro preferences and checked the mic on input...it's workng fine...
I'm really stuck on this one...
any thoughts?
thanks...rb
audio track

In Finale, in the Midi/Audio menu -> Device Setup -> Audio Setup, is your microphone selected as an input device ?

there are two options in audio setup for mic source...built-in line input and digital input...it' currently on built in line input and mic level is all the way to the right..
the input meter shows nothing...just an empty box...
the mic is working...on other programs, just not finale...so it seems to me that finale isn't recognizing that the mic is plugged into the line in port on the mac pro...
I admit I'm confused about where the line in port actually is located...I think its on the back of the mac next to the headphone input...
thanks for your help...

The input level should show something if the mike is recognized by Finale, which doesn't seem to be the case and I don't know why.
Have you tried all inputs (also, the digital one) ?
