When I play a file in Finale 26, my CPU routinely runs around 120% and I get frequent glitches in the audio playback. When the file is just open, but not playing, CPU is less than 10%. I've got a new Mac Mini (2018) 3.2 GHz Intel i7 (6 cores) with 64 GB of RAM. I'm running Finale 26.1 with NotePerformer3 in OSX 10.14.5. I would think this computer would be plenty fast enough to handle this. Is there a way to reduce CPU load? I've raised the buffer setting on my interface as high as it will go (2048) and I still get glitches.

This may look weird but it’s easily undone.

Go into your display settings and look at your color profile. Select a different profile — if only the default shows, open with the Option key held and you’ll see others. It doesn’t really matter which profile you select.

Reboot and see if it makes a difference.

This is pretty good configuration, however Finale does care how many CPU cores stay at disposal, since it uses only ONE and this is the main reasons for number of issues inc. slow graphical performance.
