Writing in 6 4 and finale is putting in crotchet rests - loads -especially if I am copying some stuff to another stave. Is there any way to set up how the rests are shown? For example if I start writing on the 4th beat I would put a dotted minim (half note) rest and not have 3 crotchets

Thanks

Jill

These steps work for me:

1) In the dialog box Time Signature, set the Number of Beats to 2, and set the Beat Duration to a Dotted Half.

2) MIDI/Audio menu > Quantization Settings…
Click the button More Settings…
Make sure that you have allowed Dotted Rests.
