Finale 26 Windows 7

I can't figure out why these accidentals won't space correctly. I've tried clearing manual spacing, I've tried increasing the spacing to the broadest possible option. Finale is doing the number of measures/system on its own, so these aren't particularly squished together. But this occurs with each occasion of this passage. Any suggestions?

For what it's worth, this is an import of a document originally created in 2014.5.

I'm loathe to start a brand new document and copy everything over to it, but...

Thanks.

Can you attach a .musx file of the measures?

My guess would be it's trying to keep the flat on the F from colliding with the flats above. There is an Accidental Mover tool; probably just moving the flats on the F to the right will solve it.

ewindels,

In the Document Options - Accidentals you could set the {Minimum Vertical Spacing Between Accidentals} to 5 steps.
That seems to solve the problem in measure 29.
However, you may still like to move the lower accidental (on F♭) a little - since the two flats almost collide when they are only a sixth apart, and aligned on a vertical line.

File attached.

In trying to implement the previous suggestions, I feel like the situation is getting worse: there are now spacing problems further on in the document that weren't there before. To adjust all those accidentals manually is not an option.

Maybe the file's just corrupt in an inner fashion? But doesn't that mean I can't copy the material in to new document? Won't I just be copying the same problems in?

Bass oboe, eh? Very cool!

I don't think there's anything corrupt. With so many flats and double flats, they're getting in each other's way, and manual adjustment may be your only option.

Unfortunately it will not solve the problem, but for what its worth here is a thread on the well-known issue:

At best it might tell you that the mistake isn't yours and that your files are not corrupted.
