Well. I was having trouble with Finale 25 (See Missing Violin) so I after browsing this Forum looking for, but not finding, similar issues, I decided to upgrade to Finale 26.

I dully, I mean duly, purchased and installed it. Oh, dear me. It gives some Error 7 and now
1. It will not play the piece, nor any other piece I have, and
2.the print issue is still with me, plus
3. All menu items are greyed out so I cannot close the file

I submitted a thing to Customer Support

Luckily, I still have Version 25 on my laptop.

Time to go for a drink.

Did you restart your computer after the download?

After the install.

And again this morning. No change.

I shall try to re-install F26. Although this goes under the heading of "doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result".

The playback and error code 7 is fixed. Thanks to Sam B. at Makemusic Customer Assistance.
