I've noticed when you modify an articulation it doesn't save when opening another document. How might one do this so the process doesn't need to be repeated every time?

Articulations are Document attached, so the 2 options you have are to create a Template which you can use for other projects. This can be used as is, or as the basis for a Document Style that is used with the Wizard. Another option is to save a special articulation in a Library, which can then be loaded into other documents.

P.S.: I failed to mention that pre Finale v26, one would be best advised to save a duplicate version of the file in which the custom articulation(s) resides, then, in that duplicate file (so as to not ruin the original score), delete all the articulations except the custom one(s). Then save an articulation Library. When loading that into a new document, there would be no duplicates of already resident articulations. With Finale v26, that is no longer necessary, as loading an Articulation Library doesn't duplicate existing articulations. Only the custom, or different, ones get loaded.

Similarly, copy a note with the articulation attached into your default file. Clear the note - the articulation will remain behind. It's at the end of the selection box - you can move it where you want it to appear by using the up/down arrows.
