I have a Fine in a measure, in the middle of a song. It is a dotted half, 1/8 rest, and 1/8 note. The Fine is placed right at the end of the dotted half which is where I want the song to end. It doesn't; it plays the last note (completes the measure) and then ends. How can I get it to stop before the 1/8 note at the end without having to do a Coda etc.?
I'm using Windows 10, Finale ver. 25.
Thank you for any help,
George

You might have to split the measure into 2 to look like one (with a hidden barline).

Another solution, as Fine always plays the whole measure, is to add an expression to mute the end of the measure on Pass 2.
You would place it at the exact spot, and as playback effect : volume = 0 on Pass 2 (or another method, like switching to another midi channel).

Thanks to Zuill and Michel for your generous help. I had trouble in making your way to work because of my experience level.
I ended up by: Adding a measure at the end for the "Fine" and creating a "To Coda" to get there. It works, but I may still try your suggestions as a learning process for me.
Thanks again for all your help.
