First of all, what is it called? The 4/4 time sig. Secondly, how is it entered
and removed?

So far searching the archives and the online manual has produced nothing.

On the Time Signatures page of the manual, there's a section "To create large time signatures."

I took at look at the template Studio Orchestra.

I am not sure I understand.
What is the problem you are trying to solve?

Do you need to enter the large time signature? - or do you need to remove the large time signature?

The bottom line is I want to remove or edit them. This is going to come in handy.

The whole story is I seleted the 'Studio Orchestra' template then altered the score, removed some winds and added saxes.
Now the large time signatures are jammed together. From the video that was sent earlier it appears to be the
solution.

The thing about the way Finale does the large time signatures in the score is that they are attached to select staves (in the Template I believe Flute 1, Horn 1, Harp and Violin 1). The way they are set up is dependent on the staff spacing as it is in the template by default. If you make adjustments to that, the numbers won't be as neatly arranged. Also, if you hide empty staves as you go along, and you need to hide the ones that have the large signatures, then you'll need to make adjustments, probably with staff styles, to get the large signatures to appear in place of the ones attached to the hidden staves.

So, be prepared to do some work.

Zuill

P.S.: Well, an unfortunate side effect of using the Staff Style is that, if a staff is hidden at the start of a system, and the time signature changes there as well, the cautionary time change will still show on the previous system for the staff which still shows there. That's a mess. I guess the powers that be didn't think all this through.

P.P.S: Well, I did apply a Staff Style to hide the signature on the Staff that will be hidden, so that clutter is eliminated. On the previous system, the courtesy signature appears on the other staff now, so it looks a bit odd, but probably livable. This won't be a problem if you'll just be keeping all the staves all the time.

I'll add the large time signatures when I get ready to publish. The conductors will appreciate
the large time sigs.
