I have a song which perfectly fits in 2 pages. All systems are inside the finale page margins, so no issues with page margins. But when I print it in real printer and/or sevaral PDF printers it always is printed in 3 pages!

Any idea?

If 2014.5 like your signature indicates, then normally, Page Setup isn't matching your printer fir some reason. If Page Setup is set for Any Printer, it could be that simple. I know, normally and Finale are often not used in the same sentence but it could happen...

What happens when you print to PDF — 2 or 3 pages?

There are other possible causes such as characters outside the margins. When it prints 3 pages, do you see anything on a page you don't expect?

If you're on 25 or 26, that changes things — let us know.

Hi, nothing is out of margins. PDF and 2 different printers... all print 3 pages. This is not that simple as something out of margins.

Same issue is present in Mac and in Windows.

I had a previous issue with printing (another song). I adjusted the number of elements in the systems and it printed the song with the systems as they were before the adjustment. It printed OK after I save the song, restarted finale and restarted the printer.

We need more information. What is on that third page? Have the music systems moved from page to page? Maybe post before and after screen shots.

Make sure "Automatic update layout" is checked in Preferences/Edit or on the Layout palette.

There are N systems in each page. When I sent to printer, it prints N-1 system in each of two first pages and 2 systems in the 3rd page.

It seems as an object out of margins but it is not.

I attach an image of the margins of this doc.

If you want to attach your file, I'll see if it happens to me.

You're confusing part and score. From the print menu, select the score to print, not the part.

EDIT: Print the score.

You probably don't want it to say "A. Sx." on every staff; in the Score Manager you can delete the abbreviated staff name. Then you might want to change the margins.

Or, edit the part instead.

It printed right printing the score and not the part. Would you mind explain why? what's the difference in the program?

THANK YOU!

How do I remove the "A. Sx." from the systems?

THANK YOU!

The score contains all the instruments. Then there's a part for each one. Since you only have one instrument, the score and the part are essentially the same. But each must be formatted separately, and it looked like you worked on the "score" and not the part (which is OK). Go to the Score Manager to edit the abbreviated part name. Click the edit button, then just delete the text.

This probably won't help whatsoever, but just in case: https://usermanuals.finalemusic.com/Fin ... inting.htm

I didn't find any "Score Manager" option, but taking the arrow tool and right clicking in the "A. Sax." text it is possible to rename/delete that text.

THANK YOU!

In the Staff Tool, double click the staff and uncheck the option to show the staff name in the Score. This is an easier way to get this particular file to not show the staff name.
