Hi forum,

Could someone give me a hand with the last 3 notes of this arpeggio?

The notes are resized regular notes, not grace notes.

Thanks

How did you do that? You can fix it with Special Tools > Note Offset Tool, but there is a cross-staff shortcut that will take easily and quickly care of it.

You want the reverse stem tool. Click on the measure (you may have to click in the upper or lower system, depending), then the handles underneath the notes to flip them.

As Bill says, next time you do this, the cross-staff plug-in and its associated shortcuts are easier since they do several steps at once.

What is the significance of the resized notes? I would leave them at the regular size to prevent confusion - they look like grace notes. And maybe add a "7" because it seems to be a 7 tuplet. Possibly mark "freely" if that's what you want.

It's a pretty standard way to show a slow unmeasured rolled chord in harp and keyboard music. So the 7 is not necessary. The small notes might be a little smaller and take up less of the measure, though.

Perfect, thanks Motet. What I experience is that the cross-staff plug in puts the beam in the middle of the two staffs (see pic). When I push the beam up with the Beam Angle Tool, the three last ones become reversed. If I'm missing something in the plugin, I'd be happy if someone could point it out.

Thanks.

In that case, write all the notes on one staff and just use the Note Mover tool to drag the ones you want to the other staff.

Problem solved. Thanks once again, motet.
