Playback Not Working? Windows 10

I am using Finale 2014 on Windows 10. Ever since I switched from Windows 7 to 10, the playback sound wasn't working
I reinstalled Windows this week and discovered why...When I switched to W10, I watched a video by a former Microsoft techie who went through all the privacy settings and discussed what liberties Microsoft was allowing themselves with the settings set to ON. It was shocking...voice monitoring, keystrokes, camera, microphone...Yikes! So turned off all permissions. But one I needed for Finale playback to work was programs accessing the microphone.
Privacy Settings > Microphone > Allow Apps to access your microphone > ON.
And now it works fine.
