For the life of me I can't figure out how to correctly notate the attached example. Everything is correct except measure 2, Right hand. Can you figure out how to notate it so that the 2nd and 3rd A sharps line up as indicated by the diagonal lines, without the quarter rest at the end?

You have a triplet indicated as 3 8ths in place of 2, but you have 4 8ths. I'm not sure what you are trying to do.

This file compares what you had with one possible setup that is probably what you wanted, or at least has the proper mathematical setup.

A couple other options.

P.S.: I revised it with 3 other options.

If you click on the Tuplet handle, it will give you the information about how the Tuplet is defined. If it is still a mystery after looking at that, then report back here.

You are using the Speedy Entry Tool, right?
The tuplet in the upper staff is defined as {3 Halves in the space of 2 Halves}.
Two ways to do so:
1) Option-1 (opens the Tuplet Definition).
Define the tuplet as {3 Halves in the space of 2 Halves}.
OK.
Now you can enter all the six notes.
2)Option-3 (defines the tuplet as a 3:2 triplet based on the first value you enter)
6 (enters the first A♯ as a Half, and defines the tuplet as a 3:2 Half Note triplet)
← (moves the cursor back onto the A♯ Half)
4 (changes the A♯ to an Eighth - without affecting the Tuplet Definition)
Now you can enter the remaining five notes.

Your explanation with Opt-1 works nicely. I just had to remember not to enter triplets each time after that. Thanks!
