When I select "leftmost measure" for playback, it never does it.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your help.

Are you in page view? If so, it picks up the top of the page. Switch to scroll view, and “play from left” will work as expected.

I have been using studio view, but I have the same double in scroll view. When I stop the playback and resume the playback, it picks up where it left off, even if in the middle of a measure and even if I use the scroll bar at the bottom to move to another measure. It has done this since I reinstalled Finale after a computer repair and an os reinstallation.

Thank you for your help.

If you're sure it's set to "Leftmost measure" and that doesn't work, you might try resetting your preferences.

Then you are Pausing, not Stopping Playback!

If it's set to "current counter setting," stopping and starting will behave like pausing.

motet,

Which menu contains "current counter setting?"

Thank you for your help.

I think that the ‘Current counter setting’ option is {Windows Finale only}.

This could be the issue. If you are using the spacebar to stop and start, oldmkvi is correct. That's only a pause/resume. You need to use the playback controls.

Then I would look again to be sure Leftmost Measure is still Checked.
Other than that , no ideas...

The problem went away after I called up another music file and went back to the one that was giving me this problem. The only thing I can guess at is that it was a true computer glitch. We may never know.

I think that the matter is closed.
